This fun dance course, fuses various popular dance styles that you
see in music videos, TV shows, popular channels on YouTube; and made popular by
dance crews all around the world.
You will have the opportunity to meet other students who love
dancing and enjoying learning fresh, new and exciting dance style. The course
will teach you various dance styles such as street, commercial, hip-hop,
dancehall, funk and of course the popular afrobeat.
Participants will learn the key steps and moves of each of the
popular dance styles that make up the modern-day urban street dance. Throughout
the course you will gain some insight into the origins and culture of each dance genre, so that you can
easily master the feeling and technique of each of the dance styles. This will
allow you to perform each genre confidently and with conviction.
Throughout the course you will
participate in various choreographed pieces focusing on each dance style.
Leading to an option to create your own group urban dance fusion choreography
for the final performance. The final
performance will be in the form of a music video or a staged performance.
You do not have to have danced before
to participant in the class, but you need to have a really love and enjoyment
for dancing and a willingness to put your heart and soul into it.
And if you do, this will probably be
the best dance class you may have ever signed up for.

Today's
class will focus on street/commercial dance. You will learn some key moves from
Hip-hop, jazz-funk, house and commercial through choreographed piece.
Taking
what you have learnt you will have the opportunity, with some support, to
create your own short choreographed piece with the other students.
Tuesday
Today's
urban street dance will focus on the popular afrobeat dance. You will learn
some key moves that have been made popular by various pop artist, like Beyoncé,
dance crews, and celebrities. You will learn a choreographed piece of the dance
genre.
Taking
what you have learnt you will have the opportunity, with some support, to
create your own short choreographed piece with the other students.
Wednesday
Today's
urban street dance with focus of dancehall, made popular by Rhianna and Little
Mix. You will learn some key moves and a choreographed piece of the dance genre.
Taking
what you have learnt you will have the opportunity, with some support, to
create your own short choreographed piece with the other students.
Thursday
Today's
class will focus of creating a final piece that will incorporate all the dance
genres you have learnt throughout the week; ready for the final performance on
Friday.
The
performance will take the form of either a stage performance or presented as a
music video shoot.

Rehearsals
and dress rehearsals with final performance.
