546 TUTOR: Martina Markich
On this fun and crafty course, you will enjoy dabbling with
stamps, ink and paper. You will get inky fingers as you stamp, create and
experiment with a range of techniques, products and tools to produce a variety
of projects. These will include a notebook, badges and a canvas.

Day 1
- Personal Introductions
- Group Rules
- Let's Stamp
- Using Punches
We shall use, paper, stamps and punches to create a
banner.
Day 2
- Badge Making
- Designing, stamping and
colouring the badge inners and then making the badges
- Shrink Plastic
- Designing, Stamping, colouring
and shrinking Shrink Plastic keychains.
Day 3
- Designing and Decorating the front cover of a notebook
- Using the binding machine to create the notebook
- Decorate with ribbon, twine and embellishments.
Day 4
- Let's get inky. Using re-inkers in a variety of techniques.
- Smooshing, shaving foam, cling
film.
We
will create a variety of background papers, which we will then make into
simple, but striking cards
Day 5
We
will use stamps, ink, spritzers, stencils, paint and die cuts to create a
Graffiti Style Canvas.
All
materials and tools will be provided. We will be getting messy. Aprons will be provided,
but old clothes are recommended.
Martina Markich
About Martina
Mixed media artist, architect technician and teacher Martina, has positive, enthusiastic way of approaching art and expresses this in all her projects. She inspires all her groups to appreciate and enjoy being creative. Martina studied at 'Beaux Arts' in Paris (1994), exhibiting at Kensington and Chelsea College in London where she got BTEC National Diploma in Art and Design (1996) and while working for London architects and as a piano teacher she also achieved 'BA (Hons) Degree in 'Mixed Media Art' (2000) at the University of Westminster in London.
Studying psychology and art therapy after her art degree, Martina uses art as a therapeutic and very important medium to discover, express, understand and inspire one's inner self and the surrounding world. Since 2000, Martina has been organising art and music workshops and exhibitions, teaching foundation courses for Adult Education in London, running mother and toddler therapeutic sessions, preparing relaxing art projects for people with mental health issues, running children and adult art summer schools in UK and around Europe, set up courses for home educated students in Wiltshire, and other art and mixed media activities.
