No current schedule for this year

Course Notes

Monday:

Friendly, informal chat about everyone's favourite poets, poems, and experience of poetry.

Poetry is nothing to be scared of. It's just 'thoughts' on paper!

Debra will read through some inspiring poems written by children and adults, varying in styles from happy, sad, thoughtful, and hilariously funny!

Explaining the Poetry Toolbox (Yes, every good poet has one!)

What do we mean by imagery and how to add colour to our poetry writing including use of adjectives, similes and metaphors and use examples of these.

Begin writing before close of session. Friends can write in pairs/group if they'd prefer.

Tuesday:

Continue writing, with Debra's guidance throughout.

Wednesday:

Thursday:

How to bring our words to life? Debra will teach how to perform a poem with vitality and meaning.

Friday:

Parents and carers will be invited to a Show Case Performance of everyone's work!

Certificates are awarded at the close.
