Course Notes

For this week, you're going to be mixing it up, between some very inventive historical letters, and using your creativity to design some of your very own. This will be a fun, interesting and engaging course of creating a colourful array of different capital letters over the week.

Each day you'll be given a little bit of background history and tuition on a different style or styles, and then set about creating examples and your own. There will be plenty of take-home lettering templates to refer to and help you along.

Make a nameplate for your door, or a series of bookmarks or letters for friends you can frame. You'll be honing your drawing and design skills and getting an introduction to colour combinations to make your letters really bright and stand out using watercolours.

Later in the week you'll even be trying your hand at some gilding with gold leaf, using a method that will work at home too.
