Graffiti-Style Arts Week

431 TUTOR: Angel Brasier-Dinning

 

In this creativity-filled week, you will discover a variety of skills to build up to creating your own graffiti-style mural. We will explore various street artists and look at a range of Graffiti Tags, fonts and styles while exploring which suit your personality and artistic style the best. You will use a range of media throughout the week, such as charcoal, collage, chalk pastels, pencils, felt pens and paints to create some large-scale graffiti artworks! Please note that you will not be using spray paints.

 

 

Course Notes

 

In this creativity-filled week, you will discover a variety of skills to build up to creating your own graffiti-style mural. We will explore various street artists and look at a range of Graffiti Tags, fonts and styles while exploring which suit your personality and artistic style the best. You will use a range of media throughout the week, such as charcoal, collage, chalk pastels, pencils, felt pens and paints to create some large-scale graffiti artworks! (The following agenda is flexible and includes time for students to practice the exercises)

 

Monday

·Banksy workshop on canvas.

·Explore different fonts to create own Graffiti Tag in various media.

·Create a stencil and print.

 

Tuesday

·Portraiture inspired by Pure Evil and Bambi using mixed media and stencilling.

·Installation group session inspired by Space Invader.

Wednesday

 

·Wearable graffiti - create your own piece of clothing using your graffiti style using stencils and fabric paints.

Thursday

·Creating your own stickers.

·Explore different backgrounds and textures to work on and create a large-scale final piece.

 

Friday

·Create a group mural and photoshoot!

About Angel

Angel is a Wiltshire-based artist training towards a degree in Fine Art, with aspirations to become an art teacher. Her passion lies mainly in drawing, painting and life drawing, in which she creates the majority of her artwork. Angel's love of the arts includes music, dance and theatre. A huge aspect of her practice lies in experimentation, with one of her most memorable murals involving painting over a double-decker bus. She continually strives to explore across the artistic genre, finding inspiration from Classical to Contemporary Art. Angel regularly attends lectures and exhibitions to broaden her inspiration and knowledge, as she aspires to pass on her enthusiasm for the arts to all of her students.
