430 TUTOR: Vaughan's Cookery School

Calling all budding bakers! If you're eager to learn a diverse range of baking skills while preparing delicious recipes, then this course is for you. Join us for an enjoyable journey through the world of biscuits, bread, cakes, and pastry creations. During each engaging half-day session, participants will craft two to three recipes. At the end of the week, you'll receive a comprehensive booklet containing all the recipes, empowering you to recreate your culinary masterpieces at home!

All food preferences and allergies are able to be catered for.

Course Notes

 

Inspired by the Great British Bake Off, our themed days will take participants through a wide range of bakes learning new skills each day. At the end of the week, you will all be Star Bakers

 

Monday22ndJuly - Bread day

Learn the art of making bread using three key different ingredients:

·1 X batch bread dough (500g flour) to make into:

·2 x mini loaves

·Pizza swirls

·Dinner loaves (add extra ingredients, egg wash on top)

 

·Sweet soda bread

 

Tuesday23rdJuly - Cake day

All the crowd pleasers:

·lemon drizzle cake

·chocolate fudge traybake

·Cupcakes (from spare cake mixture above) piped with buttercream icing.

·Scones (if time)

 

Wednesday24thJuly - Pastry day

Learn the secrets of perfect shortcrust pastry and make;

·Mini savoury quiches

·Frangipane tart.

Use bought puff pastry make:

·apple roses

·sausage rolls

·Nutella twists.

 

Thursday25thJuly - Biscuit day

Make a range of biscuits and cookies:

·Biscotti

·stained glass window biscuits

·cheese straws

·chocolate chip and oat cookies.

 

Friday26thJuly - Showstoppers

Show off the skills you have learned to create:

·Victoria Sponge gateau decorated with Chantilly cream and strawberries

·Fudgy, chewy chocolate brownies

·Shortbread (if time)

 

All dietary requirements are able to be considered, and most of the time adaptations made.
