431: This is a combined course for teenagers and young adventurers
This drama course is aimed to develop performance skills using a variety
of techniques where imagination and team work will provide an excellent outlet
for creativity as well as boosting confidence and self-esteem.
The course will include the following areas:
Voice Work
Exploring the elements of voice and speech eg: breathing, voice placing, resonance,
range, and word colouring whilst working with a variety of texts.
Improvisation Skills
A chance to work without the restraints of a script thus enabling the
groups to make imaginative decisions and develop a piece of work using drama
techniques.
Working With Masks
Masks have an impact on stage and how they connect with an audience often
using nonverbal communication. There will be an opportunity to work with full
masks and bring characters to life in a vivid and dramatic way.
Exploring Shakespeare
Knowledge of The Bard is not required as the text
will be made clear through structured exercises and games.
During these fun sessions, themes and characters can
be developed and explored.
