Through demonstrations, discussions and group work this course introduces you to the theories of dress, aesthetic norms, trends, colour, personality expression and context. During the week, you will develop project boards to effectively combine design elements, principles and retail concepts through research and concept development.

Course Notes

Monday: Introduce how to research using industry forecasting services such as WGSN for seasons 24/25 to acquire inspiration images following predicted trends. Collect images based on a selected trend.

 

Tuesday: Continue to collect and curate images to support your selected trend report

 

Wednesday:Begin to edit and refine storyboard direction for trend report

 

Thursday: Start composition of chosen images for the season selected

 

Friday: Finalize mounting of images for presentation.
