A range of simple & delicious dishes for teenagers to make & enjoy - influences from India, Thailand, Mexico, Italy and America. You will learn about food preparation, cooking and sharing as well as knife skills, use of simple equipment, food hygiene & storage, cooking safety and washing up! At the end of each session, we will taste and share feedback on prepared dishes. Your tutors' background is in colourful, exciting and delicious home cooking having worked for years as a caterer for large parties & weddings. More recently, she has been teaching LVI & UVI students about catering for themselves at university.

Course Notes

A range of simple & delicious dishes for teenagers to make & enjoy - influences from India, Thailand, Mexico, Italy and America. You will learn about food preparation, cooking and sharing as well as knife skills, use of simple equipment, food hygiene & storage, cooking safety and washing up! At the end of each session, we will taste and share feedback on prepared dishes.

 

Please bring your own apron, wear closed toe shoes (no flip flops) and tie long hair back.
Menu subject to change/availability of ingredients.

 

Monday - Mexico

Chilli with roasted veg, guacamole & tortilla chips

Mini fish tacos with mango, lime & coriander

Chilli & Mint pineapple skewers

 

Tuesday - America

Buffalo-style chicken wings with bbq sauce

Cajun spiced potato wedges with lemon mayo

Thai Salmon Ramen with noodles

Friday - Italy

I love sharing my knowledge, passion and ideas for fresh, seasonal & delicious food - showing students how easy it can be to create simple feasts packed with flavour for everyone to enjoy. My courses are relaxed, informal and enjoyable with accessible recipes, teaching key skills, encouraging support and ultimately eating and enjoying what you've made!
