THE MASTER'S WELCOME
I am delighted to present our Summer School brochure for 2018, the last Summer School of this mastership as Emma and I retire at the end of this academic year.
This year, there is a wide range of new subjects available as well as old favourites. New courses include the opportunity to paint like Turner, creating British garden birds in felt, write songs for fun or profit, taichi dance and embrace a Paleo lifestyle.
We are also offering courses that mark two significant anniversaries; the centenary of the end of World War I, a subject highly significant for the Marlborough College community, and the 200thanniversary of the birth of Emily Brontė. This year, the children's programme for those aged 3 to 17 is packed full of inspirational activities with the focus on fun.
You will be among the first to experience the splendid newly refurbished Memorial Hall, with greatly enhanced acoustics and facilities. The Gala performances, which take place every Tuesday and Friday, include An Evening with Lord Robert Winston, Illyria's production of Dr Dolittle and a tribute show from Killer Queen. As always, there are daily lectures and recitals that have become a popular feature of Summer School.
There will be wonderful cuisine on offer and you can be assured of the same exemplary standards of customer service.
You are always very welcome at Marlborough College, whether you are coming for the first time or already have strong links to the College.Jonathan Leigh, Master, Marlborough College
