Make Father's Day

This year it seems so much more poignant to celebrate our appreciation for family members. With Father's Day fast approaching, many of us will be thinking of ways to treat the special men in our lives. To help you surprise your Dad, Grandad or father figure with the perfect present, we've rounded up some of our top Gala entertainment tickets and Summer School course suggestions below.

We also realise that Father's Day can be a sensitive time of year and not everyone will be fortunate enough to have a Dad around to spoil. If you're looking for a way to remember a parent or reconnect with your past and learn about your family roots, we offer Family History for Beginners (357) and Family History: The Next Steps (358). A creative writing course also provides an excellent means to explore and record your family relationships, so take a look at Creative Writing: Who Do You Think You Are? (128) or Writing Biography and Autobiography (141).

Top Tickets from just £20 - £25

There's live music to appeal to every Dad at this year's Summer School, from Welsh choral and classical music to pop rock.

If your Dad doesn't just appreciate listening to others, but fancies himself as a bit of a musical maestro, you can book him into the Jazz Academy (208) or The Blues Experience (214) for a fun week of learning and playing with fellow musicians.

For aspiring country gentlemen, we offer outdoor pursuits like On Target (379-381) and Fly Fishing on a Summer's Afternoon (393-394) while This Farming Life (325) provides a fascinating insight into agriculture in the Wiltshire countryside and includes guided visits to a livestock auction and butcher's shop.

If your man's best friend is his dog, then how about booking the pair on An Introduction to Dog Agility (342)? However, if you could be forgiven for thinking that his best friend is his car, he is sure to be enthralled by The Motor Car: A Closer Look at its History Through Five Manufacturers (616).

Curious chaps can unearth ancient secrets in Digging Up the Past: An Introduction to Archaeology (119) or look up to the skies on Back Garden Astronomy: A Practical Guide (255). If guessing who dunnit and crime drama is more his thing then he will love our new forensic psychology course, Inside the Mind of a Murderer (619-620).

For the sports fan, there's a wide choice of activities from Tennis (384-391) to Mountain Biking (398-400) and Swim and Gym (371-374). If your Dad's happy place is the Golf Course, Golf Handicap (382) will help him reduce his handicap before the end of the season.

Finally, if Dad is your go-to person when things go wrong, State of Emergency (606) could be quite apt! On this course, participants will from a Cabinet government and work through a series of different crisis scenarios that ministers can face.
