While once the antidote to life's stresses might have been a week lying poolside soaking up the sun, relaxation today is taking a different shape.
The idea of using your holiday to learn a new skill or gain a hobby is becoming increasingly popular as holiday-makers look to maximise their time away. However, this isn't a new concept to Marlborough College Summer School who have been specialising in leisure learning holidays in Wiltshire since 1974.
In fact, our 4-week Summer School offering over 500 different courses suitable for all ages and interests, is still one of the only multigenerational holiday learning events of its kind.
All courses run from Monday to Friday and last either five full or five half days. You will benefit from the knowledge and guidance of tutors who are experts in their chosen fields, as well as the support of your fellow classmates.
For a truly immersive experience, many guests also opt to take advantage of Marlborough College's onsite accommodation package, which includes excellent meals and evening entertainment.

Fancy a country house break with a difference? The English Country House in Literature explores six iconic novels and the themes of Englishness, home, nostalgia and social change. Meanwhile, if you're intrigued by the life of a travel writer or how to record your own journeys, Travel Writing is a must.

Nothing says summer like raffia! Try your hand at Raffia Hat Making or Raffia Bags and create a unique accessory you will enjoy for many holidays to come. We all dream of a blue-sky holiday but you will enjoy Painting Skies in Watercolour, whatever weather the Great British summer provides.
Explorations in taste
If you love embracing local cuisine why not learn to recreate some at home with Classic Japanese Cooking or Exploring Thai Cuisine? Alternatively, Eating Sicily and Recipes and Stories from Lebanon provide a delicious insight into the people, history and culture of their respective nations.
A change of rhythm
