Courses to Love this Valentine's Day

Whether you spark a shared love of a new subject or rekindle a favourite pastime, learning together is a great way to bond, have fun and create lasting memories. It is also a great conversation starter with your significant other or a prospective new partner.

If you're not feeling the love this Valentine's Day, then why not book a date with yourself and finally get round to picking up that paintbrush or practicing some self-care? Whatever your passion - literature, music, fitness, science or art history - you are almost certain to find your perfect match. Summer School has an incredible 404 courses for adults this summer.

Courses to Treat Your Valentine (or self)

Up your game this Valentine's Day and book your double a five half-day course of Tennis (384-391) for guaranteed love all! Another way to get physical and unleash their competitive side is our brand new introduction to Your First Triathlon (403-404). Meanwhile, learning to dance is always a top choice for couples. Master the basics of Waltz, Quickstep, Tango and Foxtrot in Beginners Ballroom Dancing (246) or spice things up in Welcome to the World of Latin (248).

Impress a dinner date with your Classic Japanese Cooking Skills (350-351) and for an original alternative to the traditional movie night, book your leading man or lady a place on The Golden Age of British Film Comedy (249). This fun, informative course is an appreciation and critical study of the movies that have reflected our nation and character for over five decades.

Literary lovers can discover some of the most heart-stopping love poetry of all time on Larkin About with Hardy (129) or explore the institution of marriage, the mainstay of theatre from Greek Drama to the present day on Second Time Around: Three Plays about Marriage (139) with secrets, lies, seduction, power and passion aplenty.

Move over [insert name of their favourite singer-songwriter here]! Instead of buying a love song, you could learn to write your own in An Introduction to Songwriting (230-231). However, if you prefer to say it with flowers, consider An Introduction (101) or Next Steps in Floral Design (102) course.

Finally, if you're finding all this Valentine's business a bit much, then a course of Relaxation, Meditation and Mindfulness (301) may be in order!
