Computing for Microsoft Windows: I've Started, but What Do I Do Now ?

261 TUTOR: Anne Deuchar

This course hopes to give beginners and 'not quite' beginners the confidence to use Windows computers without too much frustration. You will use a Windows 10 operating system and the Microsoft Office 2016 suite of Word, Excel and Outlook on the College computers. The aim is to ensure you are using your computer with confidence by the end of the week.

Course Notes

You can bring your laptop if you want to receive additional assistance out of lesson time however the class will only be using college computers. All lessons will have handouts covering each day's topics. Both the Windows and Apple Mac courses use MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) plus standard internet browsers for online topics. We will cover creating useful templates, creating labels, using spreadsheets, customising the settings in applications and computer and much more.

This course is designed to increase your confidence in using your computer and helping you understand how to maintain your computer for maximum performance and ensure your safety online. It is genuinely a course for anyone wanting to get more out of using their computer. If you need to contact the tutor prior to the course, please contact admin@summerschool.co.uk.

Some computing experience is a must as this is not a course for absolute beginners.
