Beginners Piano

192 TUTOR: Trish Gange

Have you often thought that you would like to learn the piano? Perhaps you had lessons as a child and regretted giving it up for sport or other interests. It is never too late to have a go. Playing the piano is fun, fascinating and a wonderful way to commune with the Great Composers. Some even claim it may help prevent the onset of Alzheimer's. So, come along and try. You will not be disappointed.

Course Notes

This course is designed both for complete beginners and for those who have had a little experience. We will explore a bit of theory, a lot of playing - don't be alarmed, there will be familiar tunes - a bit of history of the keyboard and of music, you will also be played to too! For the first part of each session we'll be together and after break everyone has a piano to play and individual tuition. What will you need? Fingers and thumbs, listening ears, a pencil, a rubber and a folder.

About Trish

Trish was educated in Belgium for a period of eight years during which time she studied the piano with Remedios Cortes Ayats, an acclaimed performer of the piano works of Frederico Mompou. She subsequently continued her studies in Guildford and London, and began teaching the piano whilst living in Hampshire in the 1970s.

She relocated to Devon in 1988, and since her return to Wiltshire in 2006 has been teaching in and around the Marlborough area.

Trish now has three young grandsons who are happily already showing an interest in the piano!
