explore a range of attractive trees and shrubs for all year round interest

assess the bark, stems, flowers and berries qualities of trees and shrubs

to evaluate the range of evergreen foliage, variegated ,gold and purple

identify at least outstanding winter interest 10 trees and shrubs

illustrated talks, group work, walks in the College grounds for inspiration,
plenty of time for questions and discussions, this course will give you the
confidence to plan for enhanced colour in your garden

About the tutor
Letta Jones MA, is
a Lecturer in Horticulture and Garden History. She was at
Capel Manor and Birkbeck Colleges for 15 years. She teaches at the South London
Botanical Institute,Knuston Hall,Denman College,WEA,City Literary Institution
and gives talks for gardening clubs,WI, archives and museums. She was a guide
at the Chelsea Physic Garden for 18 years, is a Green Flag Park Judge, and has been a Marlborough College Summer School tutor
since 2002.

About Letta
Letta Jones, MA is a Lecturer in Landscape Horticulture and
the History of Gardens. She was a guide at the Chelsea Physic Garden in London
for 18 years and now teaches workshops there, and at the City Lit. Her courses
are also offered at Knuston Hall, Woodbrooke Quaker College, Glenthorne Centre
and through Garden History Grapevine. Since 2002 she has been a Summer School
tutor at Marlborough.
In Sep 2020 she will lead her own Gardens Study Tour to
