|COURSE No.||WEEK||AM||PM||FULL DAY||FEE||STATUS|
This new course presents a totally fresh approach to visiting country houses. Each day, a particular house will be examined on site from many different perspectives. As ever, a visit to the house and its collections remains central but in addition the gardens, estate villages, gatehouses, dower houses, churches, chapels and farms will be explored, bringing the entire estate collectively into focus. An example is Wilton House, where stunning and highly important art collections are displayed in both public and private rooms, and the gardens too are both public and private. Then there is the matter of Wilton village and its treasure packed church, largely paid for by the Pembroke family in the 19th century.
