Massage and aromatherapy can help us to relax and de-stress. On this course we will explore different forms of massage, blending aromatherapy oils and relaxation techniques.
You will learn about common aromatherapy oils and blend your own massage oil to give a relaxing hand massage. You will also give and receive a seated massage, through clothes, and practise relaxation techniques.
The course will be very practical, and you will work together in pairs to give and receive massage.
During this course we will cover the following:
Aromatherapy oils and their properties
Blending an aromatherapy massage oil
Giving and receiving a relaxing aromatherapy hand massage
Giving and receiving a seated massage, through clothes, covering the upper back, neck & scalp
Self-massage of the face & scalp
Relaxation techniques - progressive muscle relaxation and abdominal breathing.
Please wear loose comfortable clothing
Please bring a yoga mat (or similar), a cushion and a blanket.
Christine has been practising holistic therapies and relaxation techniques for over 20 years and works as both a therapist and a tutor, delivering a range of high quality courses and workshops for both beginners and professionals.
She really enjoys teaching and seeing the changes therapies and relaxation techniques can make to a person's life - often when people start to follow an interest in this area it becomes a lifelong passion. Beginners can soon pick up techniques to benefit them in many areas of their life and increase their sense of wellbeing.
