An Introduction to Silversmithing: Silver Trinket Box

During this course you be guided through how to construct your very own silver trinket box. The round box will have a bezel lid and the option to add a decorative gemstone on top. You will learn skills such a sawing, shaping, soldering and polishing. The course is suitable for both beginners and those with some basic silversmithing experience. At the end of the week you will leave with a beautiful box for you or a loved one.

Course Notes

Please bring a notebook and pen. Do not wear your best clothing, you may want to bring an apron. For health and safety- If you have long hair please make sure it is tied back and do not wear open toed shoes.

About Loucinda

Loucinda is a designer and silversmith, based in the West Berkshire countryside. Using traditional techniques she creates contemporary silverware and jewellery, which is both simple in shape and sensitive in design. Loucinda has won numerous awards for her designs. She has worked to commission for various clients and exhibited in many well known exhibitions and galleries. Teaching and passing on skills to others is also a huge passion of hers, she has taught at a range of places such as Oxford college and South Hill Park and is excited about joining the events at Marlborough Summer School.
